More children receive care from CHLA than any other hospital in the region - and often CHLA comes to the rescue for children when other hospitals run out of medical options for their care. Walk and Play L.A. is the event that supports the only hospital solely dedicated to the health of children in Los Angeles.
Here are a few ways you can get involved:
- Donate to my Page to help us reach our fundraising goal.
- Join our team on June 22nd to Walk and Play for the kids at CHLA! Family and friends are welcomed!
We hope you’ll join us and help support our fundraising efforts with a donation to Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Your tax-deductible gift will make a difference in the lives of many young patients and their families. Any amount, great or small, will be greatly appreciated and will help us create hope and build healthier futures for the families of Southern California and beyond.
The Phi Mu Creed establishes the idea of service to others by beginning: “To lend to those less fortunate a helping hand” and also includes the line, “To minister to the needy and unfortunate”. At the 1916 National Convention, delegates voted to establish the custom of adopting philanthropic work under the direction of a national committee. The philanthropic work would focus on child welfare.
In the early 1980s there was a movement within Phi Mu for more “hands on” programs that would bring the satisfaction of seeing the results of philanthropic work locally. At the 1986 National Convention, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH) was adopted as the national philanthropy of Phi Mu Fraternity. Now, 33 years later, Phi Mu’s collegiate and alumnae chapters raise over $2 million annually for CMN Hospitals.
Both collegiate and alumnae members serve their communities by raising funds and awareness for local sick and injured kids. Funds have been raised through a variety of events including participation in Miracle Network Dance Marathon, golf tournaments, Bonnamu, cook-offs and many more.
