The Literally Healing program at Children's Hospital Los Angeles helps thousands of children through the anxieties and pain of treatment and recovery through the power of books and literacy.
Our signature collection of over 1,000 titles of therapeutic books for children offers highly targeted resources to help children face significant life challenges. Gifting these books in English, and creating them in Spanish, is one of our unique contributions to Pediatric Health Care.
We gift over 70,000 new books to patients, siblings and caregivers every year, as well as nearly 10,000 new magazines for our weary caregivers and older patients.
Through our compassionate volunteers, and much loved Book RAWR (Raising A Winning Reader) carts, we reach out to children who are isolated, despondent or lonely; too sick to leave their rooms; or physically unable to get to our Reading Room. In this room, with its larger than life furniture made of books, inpatients and their siblings select and keep one free book daily.
Please support our work by making a contribution today. Your gift will make a difference in the life of a child, bringing them joy, strength and widening their horizons - both during and after our protection and care.
Thank you for your gift!
