New Approaches to Neuroblastoma Therapy (NANT)
I am excited to be part of Walk L.A. in support of the mission of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). CHLA is a non for profit, and often comes to the rescue for children when other hospitals run out of medical options. I am walking and fundraising for the Neuroblastoma research team. New Approaches to Neuroblastoma Therapy (N.A.N.T), is the only consortium in the WORLD solely dedicated to developing novel treatments and biomarkers through early clinical trials for children whose disease has become resistant to front-line therapies!
Neuroblastoma is the third most common cancer in children. Half of the children who have high risk disease at diagnosis, have less than 50% survival. After failing standard therapy, patients have less than 10% survival. (To learn more about N.A.N.T., please visit our page: http://www.nant.org/Patients_and_Families/about.php)
Our vision is to develop and test new therapies that target both neuroblastoma cells and normal cells around the tumor and in the immune system to improve the outcome for children with high-risk neuroblastoma with fewer side effects.
How you can get involved:
• Donate to my Page to help me reach my fundraising goal. All proceeds will go directly to NANT
• Join the Walk and create your own fundraising page for Walk L.A.!
Your tax-deductible gift will make a difference in the lives of many young patients and their families. Any amount, great or small, will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you and I hope you’ll join me at the walk!
