Walking to support Children's Hospital LA and My Nephew - TEAM ALESSIO!
Welcome to TEAM ALESSIO's Walk an Play L.A. page! We are excited to be part of 3rd Annual Walk and Play LA event on June 22 at the Los Angles Memorial Coliseum and Exposition Park.
My nephew Alessio was diagnosed with Pediatric Pulmonary alveolar proteinosis, (PAP) -- a very rare lung disease just after he was born. He spent his first 7 months of his life hospitalized, on a ventilator and oxygen. It's been 2 1/2 years and he's finally able to spend most of the day roaming free from the oxygen and ventilator. We are hoping that the day will come when he is able to be entirely ventilator and oxygen independent. He amazes all of us everyday with his determination and drive to overcome his rare condition.
Walk and Play L.A. is a community fundraising event that provides an opportunity for CHLA employees and faculty members, patient families, sport community leaders, supporters and corporate partners to come together in solidarity to celebrate CHLA and raise funds for various programs and services at CHLA. The event will include a family-friendly 3k walk, a wellness family festival with entertainment for all ages, and exclusive clinics hosted by professional athletes for youth participants age 4-12. It is so important to donate to Children’s Hospital. They've given my nephew a chance for a future. Please take the time to donate and/or participate in this year’s walk and support a terrific hospital with amazing people.
Please join TEAM ALESSIO either by walking with us or donating for a great cause!
Here are a few ways you can get involved:
•Donate to my Page to help me reach my fundraising goal.
• Join the Walk and create your own fundraising page for Walk L.A.!
I hope you’ll join me at the walk and help support my fundraising efforts with a donation to Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Your tax-deductible gift will make a difference in the lives of many young patients and their families. Any amount, great or small, will be greatly appreciated and will help us create hope and build healthier futures for the families of Southern California and beyond.
Thank you from our entire family!
