Pippa's Paws were Made for Walking...
Welcome to our Walk and Play L.A. page! Pippa and I are so excited to be joining the Walk and Play L.A. in support of the of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Even though “Pippa’s Paws were made for walking”, let’s be honest, I’ll be carrying the little princess for the walk. But hey, whatever we can do to help the children! :)
*Walk and Play L.A. is a community fundraising event that gives everyone connected to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles a unique opportunity to enjoy a 3k family-friendly walk, a wellness family festival with entertainment for all!
Pippa and I joined the Dog therapy program at CHLA a year ago, (one week after Pippa’s first Birthday!) and the hundreds of smiles, laughs, Pippa kisses, special moments we’ve shared with the children, but also some of the families, nurses and staff, has been something that words can not describe.
Childrnns Hospital LA provides world-class medical care, prioritizes family-centric care and a child-friendly hospital experience, and The Dog Therapy Program is a big part of this effort.
More children receive care from CHLA than any other hospital in the region—and often CHLA comes to the rescue for children when other hospitals run out of medical options for their care. Dog therapy visits make the hospital a more welcoming, less frightening environment. Dog visits can not only lower blood pressure, calm heart rates, decrease stress, but they can provide the opportunity for happy moments and positive memories during what is often a difficult time.
The Dog Therapy program is entirely donor funded, so every little bit helps us, to help the children!
If you can, please donate to help Pippa and I, and our Dog therapy family team, ‘Paws for a Cause’ that will be walking! Your charitable gift will make a difference in the lives of many young patients and their families. Any amount, big or small, will be greatly appreciated and will help us create hope and build healthier futures for the families of Southern California and beyond.
Thank you for your support!
