Frodo STILL loves CHLA!

Welcome to our Team Paws for a Cause! Frodo and I will be participating in Walk and Play LA 2019 again on June 22nd, to benefit the entirely donor-funded dog therapy program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The Dog Therapy Program is an integral part of CHLA's culture of exceptional, child-friendly care. This year our goal is $2000 as we were so close to acheiving it last year, so I'm hoping that you'll be able to help us reach that and beyond.
Dog therapy visits make the hospital a more welcoming, less frightening environment. They offer emotional and social support. And there are documented physical benefits too. Research shows that dog visits can help to lower blood pressure, decrease levels of stress hormones, calm heart and respiratory rates, increase mood-boosting endorphins, and profoundly affect a patient's experience with pain. Perhaps even more importantly, dog therapy provides the opportunity for happy moments and positive memories during what is often a difficult time.
Frodo and I have been apart of the CHLA therapy dog program for over a year now and it continues to be an absolute joy sharing our time with the patients at the hospital. The dogs and owners of this program are all volunteers, and it is funded entirely through donations. In addition, the dog therapy program offers support to thousands of siblings, parents, other visitors and CHLA staff members.
Here are a few ways you can support dog therapy at CHLA:
•Donate to my Page to help me reach my fundraising goal
•Join our Team and create your own fundraising page
I hope you’ll join us at the walk and help support our fundraising efforts with a donation to Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Your tax-deductible gift will make a difference in the lives of many young patients and their families. Any amount, great or small, will be greatly appreciated and will help us create hope and build healthier futures for the families of Southern California and beyond.
Mahalo!
Leilani and Frodo
