Paws for a Cause
This year, we ask for your support of our Dog Therapy program at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. We're participating in the 2021 Walk and Play virtual event to raise awareness of and funds for the work done by our dedicated volunteers and their special dogs, who continue to provide dog therapy support through virtual visits. This devoted team effort has ensured we continue offering tens of thousands of visits annually to patients, families, and staff. On June 12th, we'll be joining together to ensure Team Paws for a Cause can help sustain the work necessary to provide regular virtual dog therapy visits to patients, and to prepare for the return of the dogs to on-campus, in-person visits.
Your support is more crucial than ever this year.
For years, specially trained therapy dogs have spent quality one-on-one time with patients every day, at the bedside, in therapy sessions and treatments, and even in waiting rooms and at special events. For the past year, the dogs have been reporting for duty on specially staffed and facilitated video calls that still allow each patient an individualized experience.
And in the near future, we will be preparing dogs for a return to in-person visit with some adjusted protocols, as well as recruiting new teams to join our roster.
As an entirely donor-funded program, every dollar you give goes directly to our operations. Your tax-deductible gift is greatly appreciated.
