Your tax-deductible donation to the Department of Surgery will make a lasting difference in the lives of many young patients and their families. Philanthropy makes it possible for the Department's leadership to support the areas of greatest need -- and greatest promise -- at any given time. Your support helps us create hope and build healthier futures for the families of Southern California and beyond.
Thank you for your support!
Philanthropy supports our surgical care, research and the development of better treatments. Areas in need of support include:
Clinical Care - The Department of Surgery brings together special pediatric experts who are dedicated to providing family-centered care. We perform over 16,500 surgical procedures annually for children ranging in age from newborns to adolescents. The Department provides care through ten Divisions, each staffed by board-certified surgeons who together are part of one of the largest pediatric multispecialty medical and surgical groups in the United States. Many of our surgeons also travel throughout the globe to bring CHLA's state-of-the-art care to some of the most vulnerable populations on the planet who lack access to medical and surgical care. Your support is essential to ensure that all children in need of specialized surgery have access to the brightest, most talented surgeons and the highest quality of care.
Research - We continue to recruit the very best surgical innovators who have dedicated their lives to helping children and families through combining research with cutting-edge clinical care. Philanthropic gifts can provide sustained revenue to give physician-scientists protected time to conduct research to improve the lives of children, adolescents and young adults here and around the globe.
Fellowships - Surgical Fellowships at Children's Hospital Los Angeles offer an exciting range of opportunities for the clinical leaders of tomorrow. These include research and clinical training in state-of-the-art facilities, and unsurpassed exposure to a large, diverse patient population.
Other Programs - The Department of Surgery is on the leading edge of minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques for children. We are one of the few hospitals in the nation to use the laparo-endoscopic single-site (LESS) surgery technique for children, and we are one of the most experienced centers in the United States in providing robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery for children.
